Montgaillard fountains used to provide drinking water to the different potters' hamlets as well as to the whole village.  They are two centuries old.
This trail will let you go back in time when walking through the old footpaths used by the potters and the population of Montgaillard.

Car park & start in Montgaillard. Behind the "salle des fêtes".

Go right along the footpath going down a hill.  Go straight on for 150 metres and you will see on your right a rare cork oak.  Follow the path for 300 metres and then turn left to get to "Plechade" fountain.  Go up the hill to get to the path and follow it until you get to the crossroads.  Turn left and follow the road for 150 metres: on your right are the ancient remains of a potter's kiln.

Go straight on and then turn right into a footpath.  Go down the hill and, before getting to a little wooden bridge, turn right to observe some wild orchids.  Go up through the wood and follow the path.  You will get to Montcempey fountain.  Follow the path leading to Escarboues pond (ancient potters' hamlet).  Turn right into the road.  At the crossroads, go straight on and follow the footpath leading to the potters hamlet of « des Costes ».  At the end of the path, turn left into the road.

At the crossroads, turn right.  At the entry to the village take the walking trail on your left and follow it for 500 metres.  Then go up on your right.  "Bourdettes" fountain (potters hamlet).  Go towards the centre of the village.
